3D printer turns smartphone into microscope

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) has released printable files that allow anyone with a 3D printer to turn their smartphone into a microscope. Users simply have to print out a their own microscope with the 3D printer and purchase inexpensive beads used by PNNL. Depending on the size of the beads you purchase, the magnification of the microscope will range from 100x to 1000x.
